How the Maggi Safety Clamps Work in Multi-Spindle Drilling Machines: Flexibility, Safety, and Performance

As explained in detail in the section dedicated to our patented safety pressers for multi-spindle drilling machines, these safety devices play a crucial role in stabilizing the panel during the drilling of wooden panels.

How do the patented Maggi Safety Clamps Work ?

Let’s now take a closer look at how our presses function.

They are pneumatic pressers designed to simplify and enhance the safety of drilling operations on wooden panels. Thanks to their innovative design, they offer unique flexibility in positioning and a constant clamping force. Our pressers do not have fixed positions on the support bar and can therefore slide smoothly across the work surface.

Easy Locking System

Locking them in the desired position is very simple; just rotate the ring located at the top of the cylinder, and voilà, you’re done! Once the clamp is positioned at the desired point, simply pull a knob to allow the cylinder to descend onto the panel to be drilled due to gravity. During the drilling process, the clamp (with a  cylinder diameter of 60 mm), powered by compressed air, exerts a force on the panel of about 90 kg, ensuring a perfect hold.

Automatic 3 mm Safety Lift

To prevent crushing risks, at the end of each drilling cycle, the press automatically lifts by 3 mm, a sufficient distance for loading and unloading panels, while preventing accidental introduction of the operator's hand, thus eliminating the possibility of accidents. Maggi clamps ensure quick positioning and a perfect hold, all while maximizing safety.

Strengths of the Safety Hold-down Clamps for boring machines

- Flexibility: Freely positionable along the support bar, Maggi clamps adapt to any processing needs. The quick locking system allows them to be securely and precisely fixed in the desired position.

- Strength and Precision: During drilling, the pneumatic cylinder exerts a force of about 90 kg, ensuring a perfect hold of the panel and preventing any movement. The cylinder diameter (60 mm) ensures an even distribution of pressure.

-Safety: Safety is a top priority. The automatic lift of 3 mm at the end of the drilling cycle prevents the risk of finger crushing and ensures quick panel changes.
